Who we are:
The East Rivanna Volunteer Fire Company (ERVFC), founded in 1969, answers approximately 800 emergency calls each year. ERVFC primarily serves eastern Albemarle County (Keswick, Pantops, etc.) and also assists the city of Charlottesville and surrounding areas as called upon. The membership at ERVFC consists of a diverse group of volunteers, performing tasks ranging from administrative to Fire Suppression and Emergency Medical Services. After joining, new members are assigned to a crew where they begin to learn the basic skills necessary to be an effective team member. Within the first year, more advanced training and certifications are provided at no cost to the member.
