Who we are:
The East Rivanna Volunteer Fire Company (ERVFC) is a volunteer fire company located in Keswick, VA. The company was founded in 1969, and answered about 50 calls per year. Since then, both the company and local community have grown and the company now answers approximately 800 emergency calls for service in the eastern district of Albemarle County (Keswick, Pantops, Interstate 64). ERVFC also assists the City of Charlottesville and surrounding counties when called upon. The membership at the company is comprised of a diverse group of dedicated men and women who have many different backgrounds, each serving an important role in the organization. Tasks that our members perform range from administrative support (recruitment/retention, membership, finances) to fire suppression and emergency medical services. We are always looking to grow our team! For more information, visit our recruitment and retention page here.
The company is headed up by Chief Calvin Butler. Chief Butler has been with the company for over 15 years and has served as the Chief since 2013.
