Who We Are

The East Rivanna Volunteer Fire Company (ERVFC) is a volunteer fire company located in Keswick, VA.  The company was founded in 1969, and answered about 50 calls per year.  Since then, both the company and the local community have grown and the company now answers approximately 1900 emergency calls for service in the eastern district of Albemarle County (Keswick, Pantops, Interstate 64).

ERVFC also assists the City of Charlottesville and surrounding counties when called upon.  The membership at the company is comprised of a diverse group of dedicated men and women who have many different backgrounds, each serving an important role in the organization.  Tasks that our members perform range from administrative support (recruitment/retention, membership, finances) to fire suppression and emergency medical services.

The company is headed up by Chief Dwayne Williams. Chief Williams has been with ERVFC since 2008 and has also served as a Captain, a Battalion Chief, and an Assistant Chief during that time.
