Service Dogs of Virginia conduct training at East Rivanna

KESWICK, Va. - Last Sunday, September 13, 2015, Service Dogs of Virginia visited East Rivanna to conduct training with their canines.  The group wanted to expose the dogs to firefighters in their personal protective equipment, as well are the large fire trucks and noises/commotion of simulated emergency scenes.  By introducing the dogs to these types of environments, the hope is that they will be able to remain calm and continue to serve their handler in an actual emergency situation.  We hope to be a part of future training exercises for the pups-in-training!
