Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at 1649hrs, multiple crews were dispatched to the Holiday Inn on 5th street for a reported gas line on fire. A gas line next to the building failed, resulting in a small fire. First arriving unit, E7, worked to extinguish the fire while the other crews worked to secure the source of the gas leak. No injuries were reported and only minor property damage was sustained. The cause of the failure is still under investigation by the Fire Marshal's office. Units from East Rivanna that responding to the alarm: E21, CH21. Other responding units included CFD, multiple units from ACFR, ST.8, and the FM.
